A biology degree from Pikeville College provides students with an education that has both intellectual breadth and depth of exposure to modern biology. Graduates will acquire a strong foundation in the physical and natural sciences will think and read critically and will gather and analyze experimental data. These factors give Pikeville College biology majors the critical analytical skills and techniques necessary for many types of careers in industry, business, and government. Biology graduates often embark on postgraduate or professional degrees, which provide a useful means for specializing in certain subject areas and acquiring research skills. Many of those who do enter the workforce immediately after graduating choose work that is related to their degree.

In addition, graduates will have a broad scientific understanding that is adaptable to a multi-disciplinary approach, which is useful and necessary in many fields of employment.
