Russian Live Trap Photos

Picture of complete Russian live trap based on the design of Dr. Anvar Kerimov (Moscow State University), and Drs. Nicolay Shchipanov and Boris Sheftel (Severtcov Institute of Ecology and Evolution, Russian Academy of Science). In 1995 we borrowed a trap from Dr. Joseph Merritt (Powdermill Biological Station, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Rector, Pennsylvania) and with the assistance of Greg Moroz at the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale's Central Research Shop we managed to construct the traps I used for my dissertation project.

It is my hope that these images may aid you if you decide to construct some of these traps yourself. We have had several requests to loan out traps, but unfortunately we made just enough to get by ourselves (because of budget constraints) and cannot loan completed traps out at this time.
