Russian Live Trap Photos: Closed Russian Trap

Closed Russian Trap

This is the image of the closed Russian Live Trap. Note that the lip on the open trap's door disappears when the door is shut. While it is difficult to see in this picture, you can see where the pop rivet is placed in the front door to catch the "weasel guard." Compare with the diagram and the Weasel Guard image.

Note also the wires extending out of the sides of the trap a few cm posterior to the door. These are part of the "weasel guard" mechanism. To open the trap door, you must push them toward the back of the trap. To lock a shut trap, push them forward (although the "weasel guard" should lock the door when it closes).

Feel free to email me if you have any questions about the trap.
