Here is a shrew's-eye view of the open Russian live
trap. Well - if they could see this well, anyway. From here you can see the
wire attached to the treadle that is used to prop the door open. This wire is
adjustable, and I recommend bending it back so that it is barely holding the
door open. You should be able to lightly tap the bottom of the trap and get it
to close. When maximizing the trap's sensitivity in this way, it can be
difficult to set. With patience and repetition it becomes easier. The results are
well worth the effort (at least I can say that now).
