One of Pikeville College's most popular activities is the annual Science & Math Day Camp. It is held each summer for middle school students entering grades 5 through 8. The weeklong event stimulates students' interest in math and science by introducing them to a number of hands-on activities. In the past, students have dissected sharks, launched rockets, and produced slime -- to name a few of the fun activities.

The
camp is open to students entering the 5th & 6th
grades the week of July 5-9, 2010 and open to students entering the 7th
& 8th grades the week of July 12-16, 2010. The activities each
week generally run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. Registration is open to
students who will be enrolled in the 5th through the 8th
grade in the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. The cost for the 2010 camp is
$50.00, which covers all expenses, including activities, camp food, and
T-shirt.
